Fotoclubismo: A Conversation with Sarah Meister & Abigail Lapin Dardashti, July 20th

Join us for a lively discussion regarding the MoMA exhibition and catalog Fotoclubismo: Brazilian Modernist Photography, 1946-1965. The project celebrates the work of São Paulo’s Foto-Cine Clube Bandeirante (FCCB), an amateur group of photographers active in the 1950s, whose transnational presence was fostered by their active participation in contemporary networks of exchange.

Guest speakers Sarah Hermanson Meister, Executive Director of Aperture and former Curator of Photography at MoMA, and Abigail Lapin Dardashti, Assistant Professor of Art History at UC, Irvine, will offer insights into the world of the FCCB and the group's artistic practices, as well as into the research and development of the exhibition.

All are welcome to this virtual event. Register here for the webinar on Tuesday, July 20, at 9 AM PDT / 12 noon EDT / 6 PM CEST. The event will be recorded and made available for a limited time. Please email monicabr@usc.edu to obtain a password-protected link to the recording.
