Co-Chair

Katherine A. Bussard is the Peter C. Bunnell Curator of Photography at the Princeton University Art Museum. Her most recent exhibition and publication is Life Magazine and the Power of Photography.

Anne Cross
Co-Chair

Anne Cross currently serves as the Mellon Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellow at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Brunswick, Maine. Her research focuses on photography and mass media of the American Civil War and Reconstruction eras.

Alisha Chipman
Grants & Development Coordinator

Alisha Chipman is Senior Photograph Conservator at The Library of Congress. She received a Master’s in Art Conservation from the University of Delaware and a Master’s in Art History from Hunter College. Her current research focuses on the technical history of photomechanical prints.

Lauren Graves
Speaker Series Coordinator

Lauren Graves is an Assistant Curator at the Boston Athenaeum. She specializes in American photography and received a PhD in Art History from Boston University.

Candice Jansen
Awards Coordinator

Candice Jansen is a memorist in photography and a New Archival Visions Digital Curatorial Fellow at the Centre for Humanities Research, University of the Western Cape. 

Josie Johnson
Conference & Symposium Liaison

Josie Johnson is Assistant Curator, Modern Art, at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. One of her areas of focus is the Alfred Stieglitz Collection co-owned by Fisk University.

Chaya Howell
Website Manager

Chaya Howell is a creative advisor, futurist and researcher. She is the Principal for Marginalized in Mind and a Director of Operations within the School of Visual Arts.

Anjuli Lebowitz
Treasurer

Anjuli Lebowitz is the inaugural Judy Glickman Lauder Curator of Photography at the Portland Museum of Art, Maine. She holds a Ph.D. from Boston University.

Maura McCreight
Emerging Professionals Liaison

Maura McCreight is a Ph.D. Candidate in Art History at the Graduate Center, CUNY, specializing in the history of photography and art of the Maghreb. 

Sarah M. Miller
Secretary

Sarah M. Miller is formerly a professor of Art History at Mills College in Oakland, CA. Now an independent scholar, she is a 2025-2026 ACLS Fellow. Sarah is the author of Documentary in Dispute (2020). She holds a PhD from the University of Chicago.

Daniel Menzo
Membership Coordinator

Daniel J. Menzo is Assistant Director at Robert Mann Gallery in New York. His scholarly focus is on early portraiture and representations of gender and sexuality from across the Americas. He holds a Ph.D. in Art History & Criticism from Stony Brook University.

Gia Del Pino
Social Media Coordinator

Gia Del Pino is pursuing a Ph.D. in Art and Visual Culture Education at the University of Arizona and is the Communications Manager, Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona.
